ABOUT

The American Society for Personally Questioning Political Questions was formed in 2012 as a method for getting conservative and libertarian people to talk about their political beliefs with lefty idealists – or more specifically with me, Ariana Jacob.

I spent a lot of the 2012 election year traveling across the US talking with people on the street, at the library, in offices, cafés and homes trying to better understand the gaping divide in American perceptions of our political reality.

So much has happened in our country over the last ten years.

In 2022 I am reaching out to reconnect with as many of the conservative people I spoke with all those years ago as I can – to hear how they have made meaning of our political turmoil.

I will be sharing the stories of these decade-later follow up conversations here on the blog.

The archive of all the 2012 conversations is here.
